(This post is part of the Business Set-up in 30 minutes a day for 30 days. It will provide you with the sound foundation and systems to build your successful business quickly).

Many people want a business because they hate what they do every day.

Others dislike their bosses.

Others feel that they are not valued.

And others feel that they have no choice because no one will employ them.

So the first step is to get clear on why you want to be in business.

Sit down and write down the answers to the following questions.

In the first pass, just write, first response.

Then review and tweak. Get into the habit of tweak and review since even the most skilful and successful business is constantly changing and when you are at the beginning, you need to do review and tweak daily.

Then go for a walk and then review again.

Then you have a base from which to start.

  1. The reason I want to own and operate my own business is?
  2. My knowledge of running a business for myself includes?
  3. Why do you see yourself as a business owner?

Until you have these 3 questions answered, you will struggle to answer the next set of questions. And remember you are tweaking and reviewing so perfection is not the criteria.

The criteria is an answer that makes sense to YOU!

Oh and you might want to take the Behavioural Analysis Test on this site. Its free and might just help you answer these questions.

Tomorrow we will look at the another set up exercise
